a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization
Our primary mission is providing community service projects and student internships which benefit and unite our Bonaventure-Allegany family.
STUDENT INTERNShips
Our student interns help support our mission by assisting in all aspects of BonaGany, Inc. These Interns apply classroom learning to real-world work experiences that support SBU’s values of compassion, wisdom, and integrity. Interns market, organize, oversee, and then publicize our community service projects. Interns also provide diverse services to other local non-profits which can include but not limited to website development, marketing, communications, and accounting.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
A strong emphasis is placed on providing community service projects for Saint Bonaventure University's on and off-campus students to participate in. These service projects allow students and community members an opportunity to work side by side with each other. Our community service projects are the glue that keeps BonaGany together.
Enjoy a free Burton burger or Fusion meal after all service projects plus there is a $500 community service award given, in December, to the property with the most service hours per student.
off campus housing accountability
BonaGany's intention is to ensure that students, landlords, and property managers are accountable to each other and to the community they reside. There is a due process procedure for adjudicating complaints between Students, landlords, property managers and the Community. BonaGany, Inc’s five-person advisory board can arbitrate disputes between the parties to help ensure objective accountbility for all.
Mission Statement
Our goals are many, and our opportunities are limitless. The Non-Profit 501-C “BonaGany, Inc.” was created to help foster a positive relationship between Saint Bonaventure University, its students, and The Village/Town of Allegany. We believe Allegany and SBU benefit from their shared existence and prosperity.
Our Student Interns apply classroom learning to real-world work experiences that support SBU’s values of compassion, wisdom, and integrity. Local non-profits provide us an opportunity to give back to our community and foster positive relationships between Saint Bonaventure University, students, and community members. As stated, our opportunities are limitless, and here are some of them:
• Create sought-after rewarding internship opportunities. Student Interns play an active role in all aspects of BonaGany.• Offering community service projects for the Students of SBU to participate in. These service projects allow students and community members an opportunity to work side by side with each other. • Student Interns market, organize, oversee, and then advertise our various community service projects and community special events. • Student Interns will have opportunities to provide services for other non-profits. For example, Website Development, Marketing, Communications, and Advertising. • Adjudicate complaints between stakeholders. SBU’s Code of Conduct will be used as a guide for student violations and business “best practices” for their property managers/landlords. In most cases the punitive action would result in community service hours for tenant’s and tenant monetary reimbursements by property managers and or Landlords. • Student Interns oversee our Feral Cat Catch, Vaccinate, Neuter, and Release program in the Village.• Student Interns are encouraged to create their own Intern initiated projects. As part of the interview process, BonaGany seeks out Intern driven ideas that could advance BonaGany’s mission. • Financially support other local non-profits who promote causes that benefit our shared SBU/Allegany community. Please visit our Business Plan below to learn more about our many goals and limitless opportunities.
